6 Things Movies Got So Right (or so wrong) About Wedding Planning

At times like these at home, we love to watch all the wedding planning movies, no matter how exaggerating they can be, we can't help but watch them. From the cheesiness, to the unrealistic drama, and the unlimited wedding budgets.

We tried to gather the most realistic ones so we could tell you what can happen and what could never happen from these stories.

1.The Wedding Planner

So wrong: Wedding planners don’t fall in love with their clients.

This NEVER NEVER happens. We don't really see much of things that happen in real life from this movie, other than that Jennifer Lopez never ages. lol

2. 27 Dresses

So right: Brides ALWAYS say “You can definitely re-wear this dress!” to their bridesmaids.

How many times have you re-wore a bridesmaid dress? Never, right?

This is some way of the brides trying to convince you to wear the bridesmaid dress and hey it's her right, this is what you have signed up for when you agree to being a bridesmaid. 'The bride is always right'

3. Bride Wars

So wrong: You would NEVER have a double wedding.

Never on earth will 2 true best friends have a double wedding, to even fight for a day and book it separately.

Double weddings for 2 close best friends, more of sisters, can never run smoothly.

As much as we love this movie, but it has some unrealistic dramas, brides would never book a wedding date without their fiancés approval and also 2 best friends would never do this to each other. You need each other at the time, so you would not want to be busy rather than be there to help one another.

4.My Big Fat Greek Wedding

So right: Extended family can be a lot to handle.

THEY ARE TRULY ALOT TO Handle. Especially when they interfere in every single detail like this movie. Remember when Nia’s cousins and aunts in the kitchen? They had already picked out her invitations, bridesmaid dresses, jewelry, and who knows what else without asking the bride. That was hell!

5.Bridesmaids

So right: You should never go out to a big meal before a dress fitting.

Just NEVER do this. Save it for other time or even after the fitting. Why risk?

6.Mamma Mia!

So right: You might argue with your parents.

Right before the wedding, Sophie and Donna get into a huge fight, and it’s not pretty. (Turns out that living on a perfect Greek island doesn’t always solve all your problems).

This is so true, the time before the wedding is so stressful for everyone with all the preparations, budgets, emotions, and complications. It is always hard for the parents watching you grow and they never get over the fact that you are leaving the house. It’s important to choose your battles with your parents and try to understand how they’re feeling.
